Cancer cells enter the bloodstream through a process called intravasation. They penetrate the walls of blood vessels, often by attaching to and moving between endothelial cells. In histological sections, this can be seen as clusters of cancer cells in proximity to blood vessels, sometimes within the lumen of the vessels themselves.
