Unverricht-Lundborg Disease (ULD) is a type of progressive myoclonus epilepsy that manifests as involuntary muscle jerks and seizures, typically beginning in childhood or adolescence. It is also known as Baltic myoclonus, due to its higher prevalence in certain regions such as Finland and the Mediterranean. The disease is genetically inherited in an autosomal recessive pattern and is often linked to mutations in the CSTB gene, which encodes cystatin B.
