The dental pulp is a soft tissue located in the center of the tooth, surrounded by dentin. It consists of several components:
Odontoblasts: These cells are responsible for the formation of dentin. They line the outer pulpal wall and extend their processes into the dentinal tubules. Fibroblasts: The most abundant cells in the pulp, fibroblasts produce and maintain the extracellular matrix. Blood Vessels: These provide essential nutrients and oxygen to the pulp tissue. Nerve Fibers: Responsible for transmitting sensory signals, such as pain, from the tooth to the brain.
