Red Blood Cells (RBCs) are critical for oxygen transport. In histological studies, the morphology of RBCs can reveal conditions such as sickle cell anemia, where RBCs take on a crescent shape, or microcytic anemia, where RBCs are abnormally small. The histological examination of bone marrow can also help diagnose conditions affecting RBC production, such as aplastic anemia.
