NT 4 primarily binds to the TrkB receptor. Activation of TrkB by NT 4 leads to several downstream signaling pathways that mediate its effects on neuronal survival, growth, and differentiation. Additionally, NT 4 can also interact with the p75 neurotrophin receptor (p75^NTR^), which modulates the effects of TrkB signaling.
