It is based on the number of times articles from the journal published in the past five years have been cited in the JCR (Journal Citation Reports) year. Unlike the Impact Factor, which considers only the number of citations, the Eigenfactor Score also considers the prestige of the citing journals, making it a more comprehensive measure of impact.
