cancer diagnosis and staging
What are the Staging Systems Used in Cancer?
Several staging systems are used, but the most common is the
TNM System
:
T (Tumor)
: Size and extent of the primary tumor.
N (Nodes)
: Involvement of regional lymph nodes.
M (Metastasis)
: Presence of distant metastasis.
Each category is assigned a number that indicates the severity, with higher numbers suggesting more advanced disease.
