What are the Limitations of Brightfield Microscopy?
While brightfield microscopy is highly valuable, it has some limitations:
Limited contrast: Unstained specimens can be difficult to see due to lack of contrast. Resolution limits: Typically, brightfield microscopes have a maximum resolution of about 0.2 micrometers, which can limit the ability to see very fine details. Flat images: Produces two-dimensional images, which may not fully represent the three-dimensional structure of tissues.
