What are the Histological Changes in Activated Kupffer Cells?
Histologically, activated Kupffer cells can be identified by their increased size and enhanced phagocytic activity. They may contain ingested material such as cellular debris, bacteria, or other particulate matter. In liver biopsy samples, activated Kupffer cells can be visualized using immunohistochemical staining for macrophage markers like CD68 or F4/80.
