Endothelial Progenitor Cells (EPCs) are a type of stem cell that play a critical role in the regeneration of blood vessels. These cells are derived from the bone marrow and circulate in the bloodstream. They have the ability to differentiate into endothelial cells, which form the inner lining of blood vessels, thus contributing to vascular repair and new blood vessel formation, a process known as angiogenesis.
