How do endocrine tissues respond to physiological needs?
Endocrine tissues secrete hormones in response to physiological needs, which can be regulated through feedback mechanisms. Histologically, changes in endocrine glands such as the thyroid, pancreas, and adrenal glands can be observed. For instance, in response to high blood glucose levels, pancreatic beta cells increase insulin secretion, which can be seen as increased granule content within these cells.
