The myenteric plexus, also known as Auerbach's plexus, is a critical component of the enteric nervous system (ENS). It is a network of neurons situated between the circular and longitudinal layers of the muscularis externa in the gastrointestinal tract. Its primary role is to coordinate the motility of the gut.
